As demolition contractors based in Surrey and operating across London and the Home Counties, we offer a range of demolition services, including high reach and soft strip. We can assist with anything from small domestic projects, to large commercial demolition. With more than 30 years experience, our knowledge is invaluble when dealing with projects of any scale or type. Thames Dismantling is the ideal choice for property developers, architects or building firms looking for full service demolition, site clearances or soft strips.

Site clearance is the removal of all accumulated waste from an area to ensure that it is free from any hazards, obstacles or unsightly mess. This service is often employed when a worksite needs to be prepared for future development or when a previous development has demolished. We clear sites as part of the demolition process however we can also include additional waste clearance services should they be required. Site clearance is usually undertaken as part of enabling works in preparation for construction.

A lot of projects will have an element of excavation prior to ongoing building work. This could be the removal of top soil, or excavation to a specified depth. Our highly skilled operatives are able to excavate with speed and precision and we can arrange that all arisings are removed from site. Before construction begins, many sites require the use of piling mats. These provide a solid surface for moving heavy vehicles and plant on to site. If a piling mat is required, Thames Dismantling crush arisings on-site, layering and flattening the hardcore to create a stable mat.

If you are responsible for the demolition of a house, residential block of flats garages, factory or commercial property it is important that you are aware of your obligations under Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. Blue and brown asbestos materials were banned in 1985 with white asbestos (Chrysotile) outlawed in 1999. Asbestos removal is a heavily regulated industry governed by the HSE. Any asbestos disturbance or removal must be undertaken by a licensed contractor and documented through every step of the process from works set up, to removal, transportation and disposal.

On every project Thames Dismantling understand the impact that demolition works can have on neighbours from noise, dust and vibration. That is why a full assessment of our works is undertaken prior to us starting on site, so that we arrive on site with the right equipment to perform a fast and effective service, with minimal impact on the neighbours. This proactive and considerate approach not only keeps the local community happy but also provides a positive foundation for the client to proceed with their development.

Every one of our projects is planned with careful consideration to both the immediate environment, where we make great efforts to minimise disruption to nearby businesses and neighbourhoods, and the environment in general. We are genuinely proud of the fact that 98% of the materials removed from all of our sites are either re-used or recycled diverting it from landfill. We concentrate on providing demolition services throughout London and the surrounding home counties and enjoy a reputation for quality, innovation and teamwork.

High reach demolition is a versitile method for safely demolishing tall structures, whether steel framed or constructed of reinforced concrete. It is very cost effective and allows us to reduce the risk of our operatives working at height which is why we always recommend it, when appropriate to the project. Along with the Health and Safety benefits, this technique demonstrates excellent output and productivity over traditional 'top down demolition' and can often, when used with concrete crackers, completely negate the need to use mini excavators and percussive breakers.

The waste removed can include furniture, carpets and false ceiling tiles as well as static waste products which includes timber shelving, strapping, skirting, flooring and partition frames. Some projects may require the removal of internal walls and floors leaving just the outer walls and roof on the structure. Thames Dismantling can completely strip out offices, houses or most buildings ready for the refit or new building works to commence. We can also remove asbestos which must be dealt with carefully and to current HSE and Environment Agency regulations.

Disposing of materials arising from demolition can be a costly part of a project and can also have a significant environmental impact. Wherever possible we recommend crushing demolition waste on site to either be used in the future development or transported to nearby projects requiring hardcore. At Thames Dismantling we take time to understand the future site development and help to eliminate costs by providing crushed aggregate suitable for the ongoing project. Recycling demolished materials into useable building materials, saves both time and money, by reducing the need for haulage and landfill.
