After more than 20 years of using World of Carpet since moving to Luton from London, I am extremely disappointed by my recent experience. I originally chose the company because they were recommended to me as an honest and fair carpet company that could be trusted with your money, while providing good-quality carpets and underlay to suit different budgets. Over the years, I have had no reason to question that reputation.

Unfortunately, my experience over the past six months has been completely different.

I purchased carpet and underlay and paid in full before my house refurbishment was completed. Once the refurbishment was finished, I began trying to arrange the fitting. Despite repeated attempts over the last six months, I have been unable to get anyone to respond. The telephone numbers appear to go unanswered, and the shop has frequently appeared closed during normal working hours, regardless of whether an open or closed sign is displayed.

What I find particularly strange is that rolls of artificial grass are sometimes placed outside during the day and removed by evening, yet I have been unable to speak to anyone about my paid-for carpet. I have also checked Companies House, which indicates that the company remains active and lists Zafar Iqbal Khan as a director. I cannot comment on the reasons for the current situation, but from a customer's perspective, being unable to contact a company for six months after paying in full is extremely concerning.

I have now reached the point where I intend to report my experience to Trading Standards and seek appropriate advice regarding the money I have already paid and the goods that remain undelivered/unfitted. It is genuinely a shame, because World of Carpet has historically sold good flooring at prices to suit a range of budgets, and for many years I was happy to recommend them. Sadly, based on my current experience, I can no longer do so.

If you have paid for goods from this company that you have not received, I would strongly recommend keeping records of all payments and attempts to contact the company and seeking appropriate advice about your consumer rights and payment options.

Amazing service. Went in to see what flooring and lino I wanted, came out to measure all the rooms, suggested what was the best way around an L shaped hallway with lino. Given a qoute in a couple of hours, split into each room and what was needed and a total price. Got booked in for fitting the next week. Very please with the customer service.

The best customer service I have ever received. The Shop is spotless, lots to offer & really friendly staff. I carpeted every bedroom in my house & its incredibly good quality & price. The Turn around to get it fitted was really quick! Nothing is too much trouble for them. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Honestly we could not have asked for better service. The moment we stepped into the store on Marsh Road we were immediately made to feel welcome. Khan was super helpful and guided us in making a decision on a suitable carpet and underlay for our staircase. Within 20 minutes we had chosen a carpet, underlay and Khan came to our home just a short drive away and had taken all the measurements needed.

It was simple and easy and it was very clear to see that he was a kind person who is passionate about helping others and he knows his stuff. The fitters arrived the following week and we were all super happy with the finish. The fitters were very sweet and did a great job. I would not hesitate in recommending this company in the slightest. They are honest and humble people who will treat you well.

Had my stair carpet fitted today, the fitter were marvellous, friendly and very helpful, In terms of choosing my carpet the staff in the shop was also pleasant, Friendly and all my questions were answer.

Guys fitted laminate flooring to all downstairs rooms....... Brilliant. Had them back to fit Good quality flooring in the kitchen..... Brilliant.
